Well, i am doing things a little backwards....but here goes. I have skipped a few days and am now back-tracking.
Last Monday, 8/18, was Sutherlyn's very first day of school at "her new school". She was very excited and so was I. I am anticipating a great year for her....and us.
This is Sutherlyn at her own desk the first day......
We attended orientation on Friday, 8/15 and were delighted to meet her teacher (s). She has the two Mrs. Austins. I have heard great things about them. The eldest Mrs. Austin has been teaching for 29 years. Her very first year of teaching 2nd grade was the year that Mal moved from the Elementary School to the Jr High School and he remembered her. She has been there that long! The younger Mrs Austin is the eldest's daughter-in-law (are you following me? They are related...) and seems like a very sweet, kind lady. Sutherlyn liked them both and immediately started to tell them all about herself and her "old school". Imagine that, Sutherlyn had no trouble talking to them right off the bat.....
Here are some pics of her on her very first day. Of course, Baby had to be in the pictures. She rode to school with us too. When Sutherlyn got out she decided that Baby could wait in the car for me to return but Sutherlyn made me promise I would take her inside the house upon returning home!

luke is so excited to see sutherlyn almost every day as he goes into the cafeteria. he keeps telling me, "mama! i saw sutherlyn today at lunch! she was throwing away her 'crash' (trash) when i was coming in!" hope she's enjoying school :)
That Sutherlyn...she is so sweet. Momma, I think you and Mal are going to have your hands full beating off the boys when that time comes. She's beautiful and such a character. I am glad she is enjoying school. And from what I see of your house, it's beautiful (which I knew it would be).
